Appointment in Faculty of Education

The Faculty of Education is delighted to welcome The Very Revd Dr Jonathan Munn, OblOSB MMath(Warwick), MTh(JHPCU), PhD(Warwick), DTh(JHPCU), FVCM(Th), University Fellow in Theology and Adjunct Instructor to the department as Assistant Professor of Education. A highly respected scholar in the field of Anglo-Catholic Christianity he is also secretary to the Board of Education of the Anglican Catholic Church UK and an experienced school teacher and lecturer in advanced mathematics. His enthusiasm and experience brings a strong new dynamic to the department and we look forward to it developing further with his assistance.

Congratulations to Fr Munn (JHPCU Faculty) and Dr Hipkiss (Hon HLD)

Congratulations to The Very Revd Canon Dr Jonathan Munn, who was formally inducted as Canon Theologian to the Rt Revd Dr Damien Mead of the British Diocese of the Anglican Catholic Church. The opportunity was also taken after Mass to record Dr Roy Hipkiss receiving his Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi Christian University, Miami, Florida USA, in recognition of Roy’s many years work with disabled children. The degree was presented by Dr Munn, who is a Fellow of the University and a member of the Faculty of Theology.  Fr Munn (left), Bishop Mead (centre) and Dr Hipkiss (right).

The Rev'd Steven G. Rindahl, D.Min. is appointed a University Fellow in Pastoral Studies & Spirituality

The University is delighted to welcome Dr. Steven Rindahl to the Faculty of the University. Dr. Rindahl served in the United States Army as a chaplain. He now heads up Warriors on the Way. Warriors on the Way is a purpose designed program for Combat Veterans concentrating on PTSD / Moral Injury Healing. Organised pilgrimages take place on the Camino de Santiago, Spain. Dr. Rindahl also provides specalist spiritual direction, guiding directees through the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius of Loyola. He has several earned theology degrees, amongst them the MDiv (SWBTS, Ft Worth, TX), the MTh (University of Wales, UK) and the DMin (University of Chester, UK). Both UK degrees were earned via study with Spurgeon's College, London. Dr. Rindahl currently serves on the Council of the Fraternity of St. Augustine of Canterbury. Welcome!

Assistant Professor of Sacred Music appointed

The Department of Sacred Music is delighted that Dr Ian Higginson, Fellow in Sacred Music and Composition, had accepted the position of Assistant Professor within the department. As Director of Music with the University of Gloucestershire, he brings a wealth of experience and will be having considerable input into the shape of our upcoming undergrad provision.

University appoints Revd Canon Dr Peter Thompson to a Faculty post

The University is delighted to announce the appointment of The Revd Canon Dr Peter Thompson to the faculty position of Associate Professor of Theology in Applied Theology. Dr Thompson has extensive experience in ecumenical studies and liturgy and worship. He is the Rural Dean of Dungannon Rural Deanery in the Diocese of Armagh, Church of Ireland and a Canon in the Chapter of St Patrick's Cathedral, Armagh, serving as Prebendary of Mullabrack. He is also a keen organist. Welcome!

The Rt. Revd. Dr. Andrew Linley apppointed as University Chaplain and Fellow in Liturgical Studies

The University is delighted to announce the appointment of The Rt. Revd. Dr. Andrew Linley, FSJ, STD, both to the Office of University Chaplain and to a University Fellowhip in Liturgical Studies. As the University's President, Prof. Stephan U. Breu, stated: "Dr. Linley brings a wealth of pastoral and liturgical experience to the University". Dr. Linley is a noted liturgist who is widely consulted on matters of form and practice in liturgical worship. He also has expertise as a preacher and a deep knowledge of English church music.  Welcome!
