Biography

Fr Rindahl is a retired US Army Chaplain who, prior to retirement, was the curriculum developer and primary faculty instructor in the Department of Pastoral Ministry Training at the Army Medical Center and School, Center of Excellence, at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.  In that capacity, Fr Rindahl researched, wrote, and taught the US Army Chaplain Corps curriculum on providing a ministerial response to Moral Injury and PTSD.  Fr Rindahl holds the Doctor of Ministry from the University of Chester, with a specialization in trauma care; the Master of Sacred Theology in Ascetical Theology/Christian Spirituality from Nashotah House; and, the Master of Theology in Homiletics/Preaching from the University of Wales, among other degrees and certifications.  Dr Rindahl is currently completing a PhD in Comparative Christian Theology with a focus on Pilgrimage Studies at Euclid University.  Understanding the Christian life as a pilgrimage beginning at Baptism, Fr Rindahl’s research interests include Christian Pilgrimage as a whole, and the principles of pilgrimage as a template for understanding Sacramental Theology, the practice of Christian Spirituality, and the provision of pastoral care and evangelism within the field of Practical Theology.   Fr Rindahl is also interested in research in the field of Pastoral Care for those suffering from Moral Injury and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Ignatian Spirituality.  When Fr Rindahl is not leading and helping lead pilgrimages on the Camino de Santiago, Lourdes, and locally among the Franciscan Missions that predate the formation of the United States, he provides spiritual direction utilizing the Spiritual Exercises of Saint Ignatius of Loyola.  Fr Rindahl’s teaching philosophy is that of a mentor-guide who assists the student along his or her learning path to academic success.
